"The origins of the Rottweiler probably comes from a mixing of dogs used by the Roman legions and the native German varities. The name originating from the town of Rottweil in Germany.
The earliest record of a Rottweiler being imported into Britain was 1936. Unfortunately World War 11 brought an end to this line.
It was not untill 1953 that the Rottweiler was re-introduced after being seen working in Germany.
The breed's role over the centuries has changed from cattler droving to police dog. It is now used extensively in many countries as a guard dog, by the police and services."
