"In the old days the Husky was bred by an Eskimo tribe in Eastern Siberia. They were in the need of a strong dog with large staying power in order to tow the sleigh. For these qualities they were brought to Alaska for sleigh races. The Husky's appearance is still very much like its ancestor's, the wolf. The fur is etremely thick, to protect the dog against the very cold and tough weather conditions. The colour of the eyes can be warmly brown or striking icy blue. The Husky is an independent and intelligent dog with cheerful and social nature."
